Essie Spring 2015 Collection Swatches & Reviews

Hello my polished friends!,

How is everyone doing? What I have for you today is swatches and reviews from the Essie Spring 2015 Collection. I've been pretty much stalking this collection waiting for it come and it's finally here! I ordered it from Nail Polish Canada which is now currently out of stock of the collection!. Honestly I love that site. They have so many choices for you to choose from and I'm also hoping that they try to bring on even more Indie Polish makers because that would make the site even more awesome! There's one color in particular that I really wanted to add to my collection which was Flowerista. I've seen pictures of this collection floating around and couldn't wait to see how they really hold up!

The Essie Spring 2015 Collection contains six polishes. From left to right they are:

  • Perennial Chic
  • Petal Pushers
  • Blossom Dandy
  • Picked Perfect
  • Garden Variety
  • Flowerista

Hey Polished Friends.

Today I have another indie nail polish brand to share with you! Yay!!! This one is from a brand called Jior Couture. Jior Couture is a mother and daughter show. I actually find that really adorable and neat. All of their polishes are 5 Free which is amazing. The polishes that I have received are actually part of a swatches reviewer packet and I'm very excited to be doing this. If all goes well then I could possibly continue to swatch for them. Wish me luck!

The polishes that I received from left to right are:
  • #089
  • #018

Exciting News!

Hello everyone!

Okay so I have some really exciting news! I was recently contacted by Born Pretty Store to review some products from their site! This is really exciting for me because I do my nails and nail art because I really enjoy doing it. To think that a company would approach me to review products for them is pretty awesome in my eyes :)!

For those of you that may not know (I highly doubt it) who or what Born Pretty Store is, it's a website that carries everything and anything that you could possibly want for nail art. The prices are low and they also offer free shipping which is a bonus! I've bought a few items from them before and I haven't been disappointed.

Here is my coupon code that everyone can use when you're purchasing items.

  5. Apply your second color of choice on top of the nail vinyls

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer January - February Bi-Monthly Box Duo Swatches & Review

Hello my darlings!,

How have you all been? I'm very excited to share this new polish that I have never tried before with you!! I promised myself that this year I would definitely start supporting some indie polish makers and I'm keeping my word! This is the first time that I have ever tried any of the indie makers and I will continue to support them! So be prepared to see some indie polish makers on my blog!!

Up for review today is going to the Bi-Monthly Box Duo from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer (@dailyhuesnaillacquer on instagram). Every two months Jenn (that's the name of the indie polish maker for this brand) will be creating two special polishes which will be completely unique from what she already has in her store. So you better get your hands on them quick! The awesome part about this is that it's not a subscription! You would just have to remember what month you ordered your box in. So for example I ordered the January-February (I literally placed my order on the 27th of February which is why this review is only happening now) box. My next order would be the March-April box and so forth. Unfortunately despite Jenn's label about the package being fragile and to handle with care between USPS, Customs, and Canada Post, one of the polishes had gotten broken. So I will only be able to share one of them with you today.

This Bi-Monthly Box Duo contained two polishes (but I will only be reviewing the one).
  • LE (Limited Edition) #2
Limited Edition #2 Mother Of Pearl Nail Polish; Daily Hues Nail Lacquer

Please keep in mind that the reason that the bottle is messy is because the other polish that had arrived with it was broken. I tried cleaning it off as best as I could.

Blobbicure Tutorial With Eden & Leslie From The Zoya Delight Collection 2015

Hello again lovelies,

Here's the tutorial for that blobbicure design that I had posted yesterday. What did you guys think about the design? Pretty easy huh? Any of the polishes and or products that I used can be found here. I hope you all enjoy the tutorial as well. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask :)

Step-By-Step Tutorial:
  1. Apply base coat
  2. Paint your first coat of nail polish with the colour of your choice and allow to dry
  3. Apply your second or third coat of polish (depending on how opaque you would like the color to be)but make sure that it is a thick coat.
  4. While the polish is still wet using your second colour of choice apply blobs of polish randomly on your nail
  5. Clean up any excess polish that may be around or on your cuticles using a brush that has been lightly dipped into pure acetone
  6. Allow polish to dry thoroughly
  7.  Apply your fast drying top coat and that's it!

Blobbicure With Eden & Leslie From The Zoya Delight Collection 2015

Hello my lovelies,

I've seen this blobbicure design floating around quite a bit. I kept saying to myself that I would give it a try but never got around to it or just ended up doing something else because I had forgotten. Well no more excuses. Today's the day! Lol

Honestly this design is pretty easy and straight forward. The only trick is to make sure that second or third (depending on how opaque you would like to make your base color) coat of polish is applied thicker than usual. Reasoning for this?  Well if the polish isn't applied thick enough, when you start to make your blobs (using your other color of choice) the polish may not spread properly and it may not come out how you would like it too.

For this design I am using Eden & Leslie from the Zoya Delight Swatches & Review.

The packaging that the Zoya Delight Collection came in was very cute! Below are some pictures of what it came in.

Here is what the polishes looked like once they were taken out of the packaging.  They are stored in sets of three with plastic holders at the top and at the bottom.

The Zoya Delight Collection 2015 contains six colors Three of them are shimmers and three of them are cremes. From left to right :

Ombré with Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac #445

Hey beautiful people!!

How goes it? Can you believe that it's the second week of March already! How is everyone's week going thus far?? Time surely is moving. That also means that I will be on summer vacation very soon and should be (hopefully, but I don't see why not) graduating in June!

What I have for you today is a simple yet very pretty ombré, using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac #445. Also the models hands in these pictures aren't mine but my lovely mother's. She has always been my biggest supporter in anything that I have ever wanted to do. She always has faith in me and always has my back 100%.  She came and told me what she wanted done and I did it!

Leopard Print Mix & Match Tutorial

Hey again my Darlings!

You know that mix and match leopard print manicure I recently posted. Well here's the tutorial for it! All of the polishes and products that were used can be found right here.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:
Leopard Print

  1. Apply base coat of your choice
  2. Apply the base colour of your choosing and allow it to dry thoroughly
  3. Apply dry fast top coat and allow to dry
  4. Using your dotting tool and your leopard print colours of choice place some dots randomly as done above
  5. Using the smaller end of your dotting tool or just a smaller sized dotting tool in general (can also be done using a toothpick), create c's around the dots that were previously made using black
  6. Add some smaller dots in between the larger dots that are currently there
  7. Clean up any excess polish from around your cuticles using a brush lightly dipped in pure acetone
  8. Apply dry fast top coat and allow to dry
  9. Apply your fast drying top coat and you're all finished!
Accent Nail With Bow

  1. Apply base coat of your choice
  2. Apply your second base color of your choosing
  3. Clean up any excess polish that you may have around your cuticles using a brush gently dipped in pure acetone
  4. Apply fast dry top coat
  5. While the polish is still wet you apply the bow anywhere and in any direction that you wish (usually I would have used nail glue for the bow so that it would stay on longer, but I didn't realize that I didn't have anymore until I went to use it. Embarrassing!)
  6. Apply some more of that wonderful dry fast top coat around the bow as shown above just to help it stay in place some more
  7. Allow to fully dry and then you're all finished!

Leopard Print Mix & Match

Hello Darlings!,

How have you been? How was your weekend? I hope everyone had a wonderful week and weekend. My week has been a little stressful but that's why I love doing my nails and nail art. Just gives me a chance to escape and go into my own world.
I have some cute mix and match nail art for everyone today! I'm really loving how these turned out. COME ON SPRING!!!

As you can tell I'm leaning towards brighter colors for this manicure. I'm so over the dreary and tiring winter weather that Toronto has been having. But I guess I can't complain seeing as the weather seems to be improving right?

Okay! Enough of me complaining. Onto some nail art!

Simple French Manicure With Studs Tutorial

I guess technically there's no need for tutorial for something like this. But I made one anyways just in case any one needed one :) You're welcome!!  For any of the polishes and or products that were used you can find them here. Hope you all enjoy!!!

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

  1. Apply base coat of your choosing and allow to dry thoroughly. (For this design I applied a dry fast top coat to help with this)
  2. Apply polish to the tips of your nails only and allow to dry (it doesn't have to be perfect seeing as you will cover the line up with the studs, but I used a French Tip Nail Vinyl just to try it out)
  3. Clean up any excess polish that you may have around your cuticles with a brush dipped lightly in pure acetone
  4. Apply dry fast top coat
  5. While polish is still wet and using a toothpick, dotting tool etc. apply studs to nails at the bottom of the tip of your nail as shown above (you can use glue to apply studs to nails instead of just the top coat but I prefer that method)
  6. Apply dry fast top coat around the studs to help keep them in place and then you're finished!!!

Simple French Manicure With Studs

Hello everyone!!! Can you believe that it's March already!?!?!! Where is the time going! Before I know it, it will be time for exams and then graduation. How was your weekend? I hope you all enjoyed.

Today I have some very simple, yet classy & elegant looking french manicure nails for you. Sometimes I just love to do something quick, simple & easy on my nails. I also went with a brighter color for the tips (in the bottle it almost looks like a coral color, but once applied comes out orange) of the nails because I'm so completely over this cold Toronto weather. COME ON SPRING!!!!
