Somewhat Canada Day Nail Art

Goodnight Lovelies!,

I hope you all  are doing well. I'm doing okay. I did this quick tape nail art using Poisoned Apple by Starrily which can be found here. I know that tomorrow is Canada Day but this year I didn't do much Canada Day nail art. So here is some somewhat Canada Day nail art. Red & White. Be happy lol. Is anyone going to watch fireworks tomorrow?

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  3. Use Bliss Kiss Simply Peel Latex Barrier (or whatever you may have available) around cuticles to help with clean up
  4. Paint two colors of your choice on a latex free cosmetic wedge as shown above
  5. Sponge onto nail
  6. Repeat steps 4-5 until you have desired opacity
  7. Remove Simply Peel Latex Barrier (or whatever you used)
  8. Clean any excess polish from around the cuticles using a brush gently dipped in pure acetone
  9. Apply fast drying top coat
  10. Once dry (this step is optional) apply a holographic glitter polish
  11. Apply a fast drying top coat (again!) and allow to dry

Vertical Gradient

Hey Polishers!,

It's still really gloomy outside and the weather kind of makes me want to just sleep in all day. Does the rain do that to you too? I could just sleep all day in weather like this. I have this very pretty vertical gradient to show you. Would you believe that this is the first time that I've ever done a vertical gradient? I'm really loving how this turned out. I should do some more vertical gradients in the near future! Let's take a look at the design.

Sinful Colors On The Bright Side

Sinful Colors Courtney Orange

Hey Polishers!,

How are you doing today? I hope that the weather is treating you better than it is over here in Toronto. It's a gloomy day that's supposed to be filled with rain but not only that, it literally feels like fall! I had to turn on the heat this morning. :| Will we ever get summer!!!???

*Sigh* Any who I have this lovely polish from Sinful Colors to share with you. I remember when I started really getting into nails and I saw this brand. I wanted to try it but thought that it was only sold in the States. Luckily I went into a Rexall and found out that this is where I could purchase this brand!  Let's take a look!

Butterflies, Dots & Flowers

Happy Friday Lovers!,

It's time for the weekend! I hope that you are all doing well. I was able to nip that headache in the butt so it didn't get too bad. Well guess what I have to share with you! Yup you guessed it right. More stamping!! Okay so I've actually really started to enjoy doing stamping even though I'm still a beginner at it. You've got to start somewhere right? As you can tell by the name of this post it does involve some butterflies, dots & flowers. Let's get to it!

KleanColor Sapphire

Hey Everyone!,

How goes it? I'm doing okay. The little one picked up the stomach flu from daycare so you know what that means! I love that she's in daycare but those places are like harbouring places for all sorts of wonderful things lol.

So this is the first time that I've ever tried a KleanColor nail polish. Yup. I know that some of you might be shocked but to tell you the truth I've never came across this brand...EVER in Toronto. The last time I went home to Barbados was where I saw them and obviously I had to pick up a few of them. Let's take a look at this  polish!

Limited Edition Color Block

Hey Polished Friends!,

So it's Thursday already huh? I honestly don't know where the days are going. Not only is it Thursday it's also the last week of JUNE!!! There's five days left before July! I honestly can't believe it.

Anyways here are some color block nails that I did using three polishes from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Bi-Monthly Duo Boxes which you can find here and here. I had done this design the day that I went to my uncles funeral and somewhere between when I left the house and got there I managed to get some random dents in it. Even though I wanted to share it with you all.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer May-June Bi-Monthly Box Duo

Hello Polishers!,

Today I'm going to share with you the May/June Bi-Monthly Box Duo by Daily Hues Nail Lacquer. This is the third box that I am sharing with everyone. You can find the other two boxes that I've reviewed here and here.

What I like about these boxes are that they don't require a subscription. You just go onto the DHNL website and order the box. You just need to keep track of when you ordered so that you don't end up with two of the same polishes (unless that's what you want)! Another reason why I love boxes like these is because the polishes are limited edition.  Anyways enough of my blabbering. Let's see what this bi-monthly box holds!

I love that I've found a new place for stamping. I've manged to collect quite a few of the large rectangle plates pretty fast. I'm now on the hunt for fully covered rectangle stamping nail plates. Okay enough talking onto the nails! Fir the base of this stamping nail art I used Nicole By O.P.I What's The Mitch-Uation? which can be found here.

This is What's The Mitch-Uation from the Modern Family Collection  by Nicole By O.P.I. This collection was released in 2012 and I was able to snatch up a few from the collection from my local dollarama. Sally Girl Crazy

Hey Beautiful People,

I really thought that I was going to be able to get some posts in for today but that just didn't happen. Today was my uncles funeral. He had passed away last week and even though I hadn't seen him in years it still it me like a ton of bricks to say my last goodbyes. By the time I got home I was just way to exhausted to deal with anything hence why this is going up now.

Any who I wanted to share with you this very bright orange polish by Sally Girl. I used this polish as a base for some stamping nail art which can be found here. This was the first time that I've ever actually used or purchased any Sally Girl polishes and I'm very pleased. I'm going to be adding more of these to my collection and for the price point of $0.99 you can't go wrong! The bottles are minis but they are so cute! I do wish they made full sized versions of these polishes.

Black & Yellow Tutorial

Hello Everyone!,

Sorry that I've been MIA the past few days. My daughter and I have been a little under the weather, but we're both starting to feel back to ourselves :).

Today I have the tutorial for the Black And Yellow Watermarble that I shared with you all a few days ago. You can click the link above to find any polishes and or products that were used to create this look. Hope you all like it!

Step-By-Step Instructions
  1. Apply your base coat
  2. Polish on the base color of your choice and allow to dry (I usually use white to help make the colors pop and a fast drying top coat can help speed up the drying process)
  3. Apply Bliss Kiss Simply Peel Latex Barrier (or whatever you have available) around nail and cuticles to help with an easier clean up
  4. Start adding drops of polish(you have to move quickly if not polish will dry) into the bowl of water (should be room temperature) in the order that you desire
  5. Start creating a design with a toothpick, needle, dotting tool etc. (again whatever you have available) but start the design from about the 4-5 inner ring. If you start directly from the most outer ring the design will pull because that that ring would have dried already
  6. Once you have the desired design dip finger in the water
  7. While finger is still in the water start to gently blow on the water (helps excess polish to dry quickly) while using a cotton swab, tooth pick, dotting tool etc. to clean up excess polish around the nail
  8. Slowly bring finger out of water
  9. Using tweezers, a toothpick, your finger (whatever! lol) remove product that you have around you finger
  10. Using a brush (I purchased mine from @joliepolish on instagram) dipped in pure acetone, clean up around your cuticles.
  11. Apply dry fast top coat & then your finished!

Harlow & Co. Haul

Hello Polish Lovers,

How are you doing on this fine Saturday? I'm okay just a little bit tired. The weather is pretty nice today so I do plan on going back outside a bit later. Today I will be sharing with you another one my hauls that I did from Harlow & Co. I recently stumbled upon this site and I love it. They carry a lot of main stream brands as well as A LOT of indie polish brands AND they ship internationally! They are located in Canada. If you live in Canada you get free shipping once you spend $25.00 or more, for the United States it's $50.00 or more and internationally it's $100.00 or more! Lets take a look at what I purchased.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Watermarble Tutorial

Hello my lacquered friends,

This is the tutorial for the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Watermarble. (remember to insert link). Remember that watermarble takes practise and patience. I didn't always get the perfect design when I first started, and sometimes even now I don't. But that's the awesome thing about watermarbling. You can always make it work with your design and not all of your nails HAVE to be the exact same pattern!

Step-By-Step Instructions:

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Watermarble

Hey my lacquered friends!,

I feel like I haven't done a watermarble in a while and you know that I love watermarble!!. I was actually struggling to find colors that I would have wanted to use to watermarble with. Then I came to realize that I haven't even touched my O.P.I. Mustang Collection. Well I tested out the colors from that collection to see how they would spread and well....as you can tell by the title that didn't go as planned.

So I turned to one of the brands which I know I usually don't have problems doing watermarble with, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. Let's see how it turned out!
